Anna Bennett: Testing is overwhleming and should be stopped

Re “Don’t want your kids tested so often? Opt out” (Page A7, Jan. 14): Please, hands off the students. Just completely stop the standardized testing for students. These little children each learn at his or her own pace. Let the students learn and grow without all this. Also, absolutely stop standardized testing for high school students as a condition to be able to graduate or receive a high school diploma. It is redundant and ridiculous. The students will have already taken tests for subjects to be able to graduate from high school. After a student has earned all of his or her credits, no one has the right to take away his graduation privilege from him. Where are the student’s rights in the public school institution?
