Jennifer Bush: Mistletoe growing in too many city trees
Re “Our stately redwoods doing well” (Letters, Jan. 15): I am happy to hear the Coastal Redwood trees are doing well. I am recently retired from a graveyard shift and now see our city in daylight hours. I was shopping at Home Depot on Carpenter Road through Christmas. As I was leaving the building, my son commented on the weather. I looked up and noticed the trees in front of me. Mistletoe!
I started counting and stopped at 22! I was absolutely sickened that this has been allowed to grow. I then looked north and saw MJC’s trees were also laden with the parasite. The City of Trees? It is actually the city of mistletoe. Shame, shame, shame.
