Robert Wright: After 8 years of planning, Trump is best GOP can do?
Are the Republicans really this pathetic at the game of politics? For the last eight years the GOP has repeatedly conceded they would be running against Hillary Clinton in 2016. They even created committees to ensure she would be beaten down to the point of being unelectable. After eight years, one could assume the GOP has its ducks in a row and all of their dots connected. The closer we get to November , the more obvious it is that Republican voters hate the Republican party more than they hate Hillary Clinton.
Eight years and Donald Trump is the best that the GOP can conjure up? If I was a Republican, I would be furious and hanging my head in shame. Who’s in charge of this party? Why is the crazy bus being driven over the cliff? Everyone agrees a Trump nomination ensures a Clinton victory.
The GOP basically conceded this election to Hillary Clinton eight years ago. I have yet to see any action by the GOP to prove otherwise.
