Jacquelyn Harrison: ‘Love money’ flowed in Coulterville family’s time of need

On April 15 the Coulterville Christian Fellowship church sponsored a benefit dinner for Dino Baca and his family. Dino was a long-time resident and a very loved man.

We prepared for around 300 people for a taco dinner and auction. What we did not prepare for was the overwhelming love and generosity. People came from everywhere, well over 300; the line went all the way down Main Street and people waited graciously for over an hour just to get in the door. It was truly a loaves-and-fishes night. The food multiplied.

Were people just waiting for a taco? I don’t think so. They were waiting to show their love and appreciation for this precious family. It was “love money” in this time of need. I want to thank everyone – servers, cooks, staff and clean-up crews. What a labor of love! Thank you for all the wonderful donations for the auction; we lost track of who gave what because people were giving things we didn’t know about. So I am saying thank you to everyone. As for Dino, he is dancing with the King!
