Joshua Seymour: An aquatic center would help solve many Modesto problems

As a teenager in Modesto I have trouble finding things to do on a hot summer day. It would be a good investment for the city of Modesto to consider constructing an aquatic center, somewhere close enough to everything that it would be a good place for teens like me to go on those hot afternoons. This also a good idea for parents of children, young and old, to get them out of the house and give them a little break from the stress of everyday life. It also would bring in revenue for the city. The city could also do fitness classes for anyone who would want to get into shape by swimming, or offering swimming lessons and a swim team. This would also reduce the risk of teenagers swimming in canals.
