Dave Muller: Gray’s party created these regulatory problems
Re “A ‘regulatory drought’ is looming here in the Valley” (Page 1B, April 6): Assemblyman Adam Gray seems surprised by the actions of the State Water Resources Control Board. He shouldn’t be. His party’s government – the Democrats – have created many of these insulated autonomous agencies who respond only to their own agent. The California Coastal Commission comes to mind. The FEC giving up on internet control. EPA killing the coal industry.
We raise no fuss about taking ag land out of production. Our overfed arrogance based on bountiful food is understandable. When our primary health problem is obesity and the related type 2 diabetes, perhaps it is no big deal.
Ten-dollar a gallon gas is the solution to our energy/climate-change problems. More expensive food and scarcity should lessen our health problems as well. Let’s give it a try.
