Oscar Ardans: What difference can 1 vote make in this cesspool?

A big problem I have with voting is the feeling that so many Americans are mentally ill or just plain evil and that my vote will be cancelled 1000 times over every election. One-hundred fifty-one years have passed since the end of the Civil War and yet millions of people are still angry that the slaves were freed. Millions of people believe Jesus will come next year in a golden chariot to Israel to convert the Jews and return to heaven with all the “saved” people. My vote would be like a drop of perfume in a million-gallon cesspool!
