Linda Lee: Senior citizens also turning to opioids to relieve their pain
Re “Opioid abuse epidemic gets closer to home” (Page 11A, April 2): What is not being said is that these overdoses are rising among senior citizens. I worked hard, physically, all of my life. Now my arthritis is painful; I accept that. But since June 15, 2015, I have been in pain. On a scale of 1-to-10, I have been an 8 to 9 every day. I cannot use my arm.
For pain, I was given Tylenol with codeine 3; this is a joke. I either have a torn rotator cuff or something more serious. If this continues, I will have to turn to the streets for pain relief. I know not having opiods is saving me from addiction, but it is torture to me everyday.
