Craig Ethier: Fundraiser at Galaxy netted historical society $8,000-plus
The Riverbank Historical Society expresses our sincere appreciation to everyone who supported the Society’s fundraiser at the new Imax at Galaxy Theatre in Riverbank on March 23. Those who helped us publicize the event, donated in any way, or purchased one of the more than 200 seats filled that evening, helped raise more than $8,000 toward the construction of a cultural center and expansion of the Riverbank Historical Museum.
The current museum building doesn’t afford the Society the ability to display many of the items in its collection, such as the first fire truck to serve the city of Riverbank, a 1918 Model T Fire Engine nicknamed River Red. The Imax fundraiser was a wonderful boost for our fundraising efforts.
We especially thank our sponsors: Galaxy Theatre, E.&J. Gallo Winery, O’Briens Supermarket, Farmers Insurance Riverbank, Stanislaus Consolidated Fire District, Vena’s Wellness & Skin Care Studio and Schneider Electric.
