Buddy Davis: Trump is rude, but he’s no Hitler
William Shirer’s monumental book on Nazr Germany, “The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich,” recounts an incident in which “Hitler had been in such a maniacal mood over the Czechs the last few days ... (that) on more than on occassion he had lost control of himself completely, hurling himself to the floor and chewing the edge of the carpet.” When objectively scrutinized, the dictator’s behavior must be deemed severely psychotic.
Surprisingly, he was quite intelligent and well read, having devoured many classic literary works while a youth in Vienna.
Recent editorials and letters suggest Donald Trump bears resemblance to Adolf Hitler. I suspect that a typical billionaire’s dinner consists of filet mignon and lobster and not the dining room carpet. I doubt Trump has read a single classic book in his life. He frequently seems like a novice politician out of his element, unfamiliar with the basic rules of etiquette.
It was in his many harangues against the Jews that one clearly saw Hitler’s homicidal tendencies. I am merely suggesting Donald Trump does not possess those same murderous traits.
