Albert Avila: Don’t blame poor for lousy pay of soldiers

Re “Shouldn’t get more than military” (Page 3B, March 11): The writer failed to mention in addition to military pay our servicemen and women receive free medical, dental, free housing on base depending where you lives one bedroom apt can easily cost you $500 to $1,500 a month with medical this can amount to tens of thousands of dollars a year. Yes military pay should increase but don’t blame the poor for wanting a livable wage. You instead should write your Congressperson and ask them to help increase military pay.
