Ella Huerta: The importance of doing your homework

Homework is an important part of learning. When a student works on assignments at home, they get additional practice working with the content of future tests and assignments. The additional practice might even help a student have better understanding of the curriculum they have been learning. Just as a dancer must practice to get better and achieve goals, students must do the same thing. Based on my experience, homework is important because it helped me bump my grades from a C to an A+. Homework has also helped me reach my goals. While the opposing side thinks that homework isn’t important, homework has huge impacts on students’ grades and lives.

As I have interviewed my fellow students, they have said homework has helped them improve their grades. For instance, my classmate Steven said, “Homework has helped me pass tests and assignments. Homework has also helped me boost my grades from a B to an A+.” Another classmate, Destiny, had a science test she needed to pass. She studied at home all week until the day the science test came. Consequently, she got a 98 percent on her test. Homework is a very important part of learning.
