Ann Krabach: Nancy Reagan’s efforts for gun control merit respect
Nancy Reagan worked publicly and tirelessly for gun control. Her support was crucial to passing the Brady Bill in 1993, a strong step in regulating dangerous and illegal use of guns in our country.
In the biographies I have read in the local press, her support for this issue has not been featured, though some of her other activities as the president’s wife have been. Why? Is redecorating the White House more important than a reasoned and just response to uncontrolled violence?
