Johanna Klein: If Trump wins, entire Republican Party loses

If Donald Trump becomes the Republican Presidential nominee, we can say “goodbye” to the Republican Party. It could take a generation or longer to restore conservatism, maybe never. One person, with the help of the media, destroys what it means to be conservative. If we love our country, why would we do that?

When a person becomes a candidate for president, that person is applying for a job working for the American people. Let’s look at Trump’s resume. A resume should reveal a person’s past and character with words such as: consistent, dependable, honest, humble, considerate, respectful, gracious, gentle, faithful, stable, honorable, faithful, moral, trustworthy, noble and selfless. Three marriages show a lack of commitment. For most of his life Trump has supported and voted for very liberal people and ideas. Does this resume qualify Trump as a conservative Republican? Not a chance!!

A familiar Proverb (27:2) says, “Let someone else praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, not your own lips.” Having Donald Trump as leader of the Republican Party is like having the fox guarding the hen house. Why are we listening to him?
