John Black: Anti-stigma campaign proving that everyone belongs in Modesto
An anti-stigma campaign is being waged on the front lines in our city streets by those of us who were once just as unable to find our place. A place where everyone has gifts that need to be nurtured. Where there are no longer times when those gifts that are so interpersonal and precious are blocked ,we lose hope trying to find enough faith and courage to trudge on despite their multitude of talents. Hope is alive!
Peer Recovery Art Project has scratched the surface and we are going deeper into community capacity building from the inside out. No longer do we look in as outsiders yearning to belong. We do belong, and so do you. Our combined efforts speak volumes as to our potential in becoming valued community members.
