Brad Kaiser: Don’t like neighborhood auto shops? Call the EPA

Like the writer of “Close neighborhood auto ‘shop’” (Letters, Jan. 11), I to had to put up with neighborhood garages. I called Neighborhood Beautification, Modesto police and anybody else who would listen. If there is any oil, gas or antifreeze on the ground all the writer of the previous letter has to do is call the EPA – as I did. I guarantee you, they will come out and assess the damage being done and either explain to the person what the fines are or fine them on the spot.

I had two such neighborhood garages; after one visit from the EPA, they were no more. Good luck.

Brad Kaiser, Modesto
