Ralph Johnston: If Modesto wants to house people, start with homeless

I’ve only lived in this area a rather short time, but long enough to wonder how city officials were actually elected! Because Modesto is so flush, officials decide to house and feed a bunch of bicyclists who have nothing to do but jet around the country because it’s fun. Finally, the city’s bigwigs decide to bring in an out-of-town consultant to evaluate yet another problem, whatever it may be – I’ve lost track.

With all this “extra” money flowing, why is there no money for the homeless? They are the ones who need food & housing!

Those in charge are scary, not to mention incompetent.
