Jack Ford: Native Sons have lots of history to share

Since I was born in California about 20 years ago, I discovered a wonderful organization and joined. It is the Native Sons of the Golden West, Parlor No. 11. Members are made up of natives of this glorious state and are proud of it. They are extremely interested in the state’s history and past residents. It is a happy group and would enjoy new and younger members, as many of our members are seniors.

We meet on the second Wednesday of each month at Perko’s Cafe on Carpenter Road. We have a no-host dinner at 6 p.m. and the meeting begins at about 7 p.m. Someone gives an interesting talk regarding some phase of California history. You can call 209 993-7971 for more information.

Jack Ford, Modesto
