Vicki Stewart: What a great community, to support music for kids
We thank those who joined us at the State Theater for the recent fundraiser, Yo Quiero Musica. Due to your overwhelming support, we are able to purchase musical instruments for the Modesto City Schools elementary band students. That night, as the line went down the block and around the corner, we were filled with overwhelming appreciation for our community. Your willingness to join us that Saturday night, along with the support from a number of local vendors, made a significant difference in the lives of many children.
Band and orchestra programs give students a positive place to belong, a good peer group and increase the likelihood they will graduate from high school.
