Beverly Forbis: Compassionate people came to her aid after a nasty fall

On Feb. 5, I tripped on a raised piece of concrete in the Panera parking lot and fell (hitting my forehead on a car bumper,) which resulted in a great deal of pain and bleeding. Total strangers immediately stopped to see if I needed assistance, which I did because I was alone. A gentleman called 911, while someone returned to the restaurant for paper towels to apply to the wound. A lady had me lean against her for support and helped me locate my belongings which were scattered. At least two persons stayed with me until help arrived.

As they walked away I realized I did not get their names to properly say “Thank you!” nor had I lifted my head to look them in the eye and tell them how much I appreciated their help. To everyone who assisted me that afternoon, I want to tell you from the bottom of my heart that I’m on the mend with seven stitches and two black eyes. Thank you, again!
