John McGrath: Chip bag killed family pet
Recently, our family awoke to find our dog Zeke, a Shepard/Pyrenees mix, dead on the living room floor. He had a potato chip bag over his head. It was horrifying for the entire family.
All of us, our friends and even staff at the vetrinarian’s office, had never heard of such a thing. But I found a website, preventpetsuffocation.com, that has been trying to raise awareness of this danger. Apparently this happens to thousands of dogs every year. It seems impossible but it happened to us. I would never want another family to go through what we did.
Please help publicize this. Remember to cut the bottom of the bag!
