Debra Dausy: It cheapens the holiday to leave decorations up

As much as I love holiday decorations, I hate seeing people leaving them up late in January or even into February. Hello people, the holidays are over! If you like decorations, put fresh ones out for the next holiday – Valentine’s Day.

It just seems to cheapen decorations when they are left out; it tells me how lazy people are.

People should take their decorations down shortly after New Years. Make it your New Year resolution. I still see dead blow up’s laying on lawns. I guess they don’t turn them on after the holiday, they just leave them deflated. My son will laugh when he see’s my letter, but he knows how I feel about this.
