Donald Ulrich: You can fly to LA in half the time of fast train

Re “Fast rail project set to break ground” (Page A1, Jan. 5): The Bee reported 1,200 dignitaries, including Gov. Jerry Brown met in Fresno to celebrate the ground-breaking of the high-speed rail project.

How wonderful. This train will only cost $68 billion. You can go from San Francisco to Los Angles in only 2 hours, 40 minutes. It will only take 10 years to build it. We should all be thankful of Governor Brown’s leadership on this project.

I also noticed a flight schedule from Southwest Airways. They will fly you to Los Angeles in 1 hour, 20 minutes. You can chose from 10 flight times each day. Must be a better way to spend our money.

Donald Ulrich, Denair
