Dennis DuGal: VA did everything right for this veteran
In November of 2014, I retired and decided to apply for my Veteran Health benefits. I was a bit skeptical after the news articles regarding the errors found in the Veterans Administration. But I applied anyway and received a notice that I qualified and could set up an appointment.
I called the Modesto VA on Oakdale Road and got an initial appointment within a week. After going through the administrative paperwork, I set an initial doctor’s visit for Jan. 5. I set up this appointment Dec. 20. I could have had it earlier, but was accommodated at my desired date. I got a notice to go earlier in the week previous to get some lab work done.
Today was my appointment. I can tell you that not only was everything done on time, but the staff – from the receptionist to the nurse to the lab technicians to the doctor – were fabulous. I used to go to Sutter-Gould, and Sutter could learn from how the VA conducts customer service. Thank you everyone at the VA Clinic in Modesto. I look forward to my next visit.
