John Stott: Have fruit to share? Here’s how to donate it

The drought is not over and neither is the season of giving. Backyard lemon and orange trees are loaded at this time of year. Please publish numbers to call for residents who have fruit to get help harvesting this abundant supply. If residents are able to harvest the fruit themselves, please indicate addresses where the fruit can be taken to be distributed to the needy. Waste not, want not.

John Stott, Modesto

Editor’s note: Ray Perez of the Harvesting Futures program at the Center for Human Services said his program will glean fruit for donation at no charge; his program also accepts donated fruit for food banks. For more information call (209) 526-1476. The Modesto Gospel Mission, 1400 Yosemite Blvd., also accepts fruit donations.
