Connie Armstrong: Writers should compare gallons to gallons

Re “Water Crisis: Food processors devise ways to save water amid drought” (Page 1B, Dec. 24): I am curious as to why you would even bother to print this story as it tells us nothing. You are comparing the water usage of three different companies, however you are using a different measurement system for each one. Why not use the same measurement system for each so we can actually compare what is going on? One is the percentage of the city’s water used, one is gallons and the other is acre feet. If you really want to inform us of something you should at least use the same system of measurement. This is not the first time you have compared something and used different systems to measure. It is very frustrating.
