Eileen Wyatt Stokman: Board dwells on potholes instead of brighter horizon

I attended the StanCOG policy board discussion about how to build a bond for transportation uses. First, you select a new logo that represents a barrier to the Santa Clara Valley west of us. It’s two mountains (looks like Mt. Oso’s north and south peaks), with a river running at the base, of course. How original. Since the board declined the opportunity to get drivers off the road and chose to address potholes (that never go away) there will be a barrier for years to come.

Is it me or are our leaders nearsighted? I suggested they all ride the ACE (Altamont Commuter Express) train before they make a decision. I wonder if any will.
