Barbara Frazer: Modesto shows off its beauty in Christmas season
Driving the streets of Modesto this fall has been a joy. The color of the trees was outstanding; on some streets it was breathtaking. Thanks to the city departments responsible for this. During this Christmas season Modesto has so many events going on that it takes awhile to read Scene magazine to decide which ones to attend.
One outstanding event every year is the nativity scene event at the LDS Chapel on El Vista. It must be a gigantic effort to receive and place so beautifully the hundreds of nativity scenes from all over the world. In addition, local musicians, soloists and choirs entertain visitors while they walk about the displays. This will put a person in the “Christmas Spirit” every time. This is a beautiful season for our city.
