Jon Edwards: Some noise you expect, other noise is unnecessary

Re “Fruit Yard expansion prompts neighbors’ worries about noise” (Page 1A, Dec. 9): The Bee reported on the Fruit Yard noise. Deputy county council Thomas Boze was quoted saying, “People may forget they live in a community where they have neighbors and everything around them is creating noise.”

Well, there are two different kinds of noise. 1) Noise that would fall under the above category would be a head-on auto crash, fire and police sirens, automobile and lawn mower engines, a street soccer match or a family gathering. 2) Noise that would not fall under the above category and should not be tolerated by the planning commission is amplified noise, intoxicated-gathering noise and gunfire noise. This is unnecessary noise.
