Diane Kroeze: Fanatics by any name threaten our nation
Re “Who is to blame for the tragedy in Colorado?” (Our View, Dec. 1): Fanatics under any name are a danger to our country. ISIL is murdering people under the cover of religion pandering to fanatics.
Not only do the Republican candidates incite extreme fanatical hatred toward Planned Parenthood with their fanatical talk, they are clueless to what the results can be – or at least they were clueless.
The House is organizing a witch hunt/Congressional investigation into Planned Parenthood, entering areas they don’t belong in. This is more incitement; more spending of our dollars. Let the Justice Department and others do their jobs. Fanatics need not be involved.
Fanatics in Congress want to stop people fleeing war by requiring two years of vetting. Mass shooters, for the most part, have been U.S. residents but the fear mongers want to punish everyone. In the Gospel of John, Jesus said “those among you without sin, cast the first stone.” We appear to have many sinless, stone-casting fanatics.
Instead of fear mongering for political gain, address the issues of underfunded schools, corporations trashing pension funds, jobs being moved overseas, climate change ... the list goes on. Go after the real enemies.
