Gene Dias: I have a right to my weapons, and will keep them
Before the blood had dried or the facts were known President Obama and Hillary Clinton were calling for more gun control. California already has the strictest gun laws in the country. All the guns used were legally purchased, but bombs are illegal!
A neighbor was afraid to say anything for fear of being “politically incorrect.”
Almost every mass shooting is committed by a person with mental illness or Muslim extremists. Perhaps we should be demanding more help for people with mental illness and for more “Passport Control.”
It is not the tool but the fool. Gun, car bomb, whatever!
We are to believe that all gun owners should be judged by the actions of one person, but be careful not to call Islamic extremists what they are. The mascot of the Democrats is a “donkey,” appropriate because of its stubbornness. Perhaps an ostrich would be better with its head in the ground unaware or uncaring what is around it.
The Bill of Rights protects our right to free speech and to bear arms for protection, not just for hunting. I refuse to be intimidated by anyone because of political correctness.
If you see something, say something – political correctness be damned!
Gene Dias, Modesto
Editor’s note: Most mass shootings, defined as four or more victims, are committed by criminals or those known to the victims. Where religion plays a part in the attack, Christian shooters outnumber Muslim shooters according to databases kept by Mother Jones magazine and others.
