Charles Byrd: Rand Paul is the best candidate for president
Next year we will be picking a new president of our United States. It is of the utmost importance this new president be the best person for the job. This candidate must be constitutionally literate and take a stand for protecting the whole Bill of Rights. This candidate must stand for limited government, fiscal responsibility and individual liberty. This candidate must, as president, put America’s interests first, keeping her from unnecessary, illegal and immoral wars while keeping her safe from foreign aggressors.
The junior senator from Kentucky, Rand Paul fits the bill. In the Senate, he led the charge to end “sanctuary cities,” defund Planned Parenthood and audit the Federal Reserve. Rand Paul is rated very high by pro-life, gun-rights and taxpayer-advocacy groups. We mustn’t settle for mediocrity; we must pick the best because we want only the best where the future of our Republic is concerned.
