David K. Ford: Trump’s plan only sensible solution to terrorism

Re “Obama should show resolve against terror” (Page 9A Dec 8): “Trump played into the terrorists hands stoking fear – calling for a complete and total shutdown of Muslims entering the U.S.” Your words, Modesto Bee.

Know what I fear? This type of ignorance coming from the media constantly and politicians who are responsible for this mess our country is in.

While Obama sticks to his “strategy” of doing nothing by reviewing visa programs and strengthening limits on assault weapons (creating record gun sales), I have a news flash: The terrorists are here. And they happen to be Muslims. They’re not interested in assimilation, they want to change America to suit their beliefs. And we cater to them.

The female terrorist involved in the San Bernardino terrorism waltzed into our country unscathed by any scrutiny whatsoever. A fiancée visa? And the fiancée is decked out in black robes covering her whole body? You gotta be kidding me! Trump saying stop letting them in until we figure this out; that is the most sensible thing I’ve heard in this evolving situation. And it’s what sets him apart from all the other appeaser candidates and hopefully lands him in the White House.
