John Morgan: Pett cartoon was the last straw
Re “Issues and Ideas” (Page 1D, Nov. 22): The political “cartoon” by Joel Pett reached an absolute new low even for your editorials. To politicize someone’s dead child on a beach, regardless of where the child is from, and then to callously attach a quote from any of our political leaders is ghoulish.
I can only assume for now that until Dick Meyers or a member of his family is actually killed on American soil, that he will continue to believe that somehow our totally inept administration is going to provide the protection to it’s citizens that they so far have proven they are not capable of providing. The bottom line to all of this is that you have finally provided me with sufficient reason to cancel my subscription. After nearly 30 years of tolerating your politics I can truly say the only thing I will miss is Jeff Jardine’s column; it’s too bad he has to appear in the same paper as the various hacks whose “stories” you choose to print.
