David J. Silva: Who will watch the refugees who come here?
President Obama and his supporters have decided to allow 10,000 Syrian/Muslim refugees to enter the U.S.. A large portion are young males in their late teens and early 20s, the ages of the people responsible for the bombing in France and other countries. We are told that we should not make this a religious thing, but it already is. The atrocities are being committed in the name of Allah and their Muslim religious beliefs.
Our country is based on Judeo-Christian beliefs and laws and this is exactly what ISIS is trying to eradicate. Why doesn’t Obama declare the Christians that are being persecuted as political refugees and allow them to migrate to America. Perhaps being raised in a Muslim household has made him more attuned to them than to the Christians and Jews that they persecute. With what is going on in Syria, how can we possibly properly vet these people and be sure of their motives?
Two thirds of the states and every person I have talked to in Los Banos, Republicans and Democrats, don’t want them here; this is small-town common sense. Who is going to monitor them to make sure they do not commit acts of terrorism? Obama?
