Tim Ragsdale: Rejecting refugees isn’t cowardly, it’s the right thing to do

Re “Our View: Don't let fear prevent helping” (Page 3B, Nov. 19): It is not being a “bully” to reject a class of people whose religious and cultural leaders vow “death to America” and whose members rejoice at the murdering of Americans. It is not “courageous” to allow the enemy into America, it is cowardly and naïve. The naïve attitude that we have to accept everyone has been enabled by decades of political correctness offering all manner of government services in 36 different languages. It is the failed Obama policy of appeasement. It is not immigration, it is an invasion facilitated by those elected to protect us.

It would be courageous to make the tough decision to put the safety of the American people over sympathy for our enemies. And, as for the bully, that is what I want for a commander in chief.

Tim Ragsdale, Modesto
