Judy Olson: If you didn’t like O’Reilly’s outrage, turn the channel

Re “Has Bill O’Reilly gone too far?“ (Page 3B, Nov. 19): Surprising how a display of passionate indignation from a person with a conservative point of view causes such dismay to columnist Victor Davis Hanson. My suggestion to those offended by such displays is to do what those of us in the conservative arena have been told to do for decades when exposed to similar “outrage” from the left – change the channel.

Hanson’s example of O’Reilly’s treatment of George Will becoming a “lasting embarrassment that cannot be allowed to continue” is interesting and disturbing at the same time. Embarrassments like the pushy, destructive liberal agenda, Obama’s arrogant protection of enemies of the nation and Hillary’s shocking dismissal of dead Americans in Benghazi continue to be “allowed” and dismissed by the left. Certainly no lasting embarrassment in those issues.
