Joanne Powers Woodbridge: That wasn’t the first tornado to hit Stanislaus County
Just to repeat a little local history, a tornado hit our dairy farm on Beckwith Road in April, 1953. It basically sliced the barn in half, tossed farm machinery around and uprooted some walnut trees. My brother’s FFA class helped rebuild the barn as a class project. My grandfather and uncle came from Contra Costa County to help. This was all reported in The Modesto Bee.
