Virginia Vaz: Why did Bee leave out statistics on Newman?
Re “Stanislaus towns quite distinct, figures reveal” (Page A1, Nov. 15): I read the color-coded article on Stanislaus County towns twice; interesting. Where are all the statistics for Newman? Perhaps next time you take a dry run and count how many towns in Stanislaus County. You might be surprised at the number of vehicles that leave Newman daily on their way to work in Modesto, Turlock and the Bay Area.

Editor’s note: The American Community Survey study the story quoted included statistics only for cities with populations exceeding 20,000. Newman, Escalon and Ripon, among other area cities, did not reach that threshold.
