James L. Petty Sr.: MID’s long-range goals are suspect
Re “MID weighs 3.5% rate hike: (Page A1, Nov. 9): Look out MID electricity customers, Modesto Irrigation District is after more money. In my humble opinion MID’s long range goals are:
1. Have the electricity users pay 100 percent of the farmers’ costs for irrigation.
2. Keep raising electric rates until all MID employees are making $100,000 a year.
What is wrong with the MID management? Are they all so out of touch with the electricity customers that they think this type of management can continue? Wake up MID management, get your heads out of the sand.
