Efren Martinez: Be kind to animals and each other
The holiday’s are almost upon us and most will help do their parts when it comes to volunteering, donating canned food to a food bank or even helping make sure a child receives a Christmas gift. Yes, it is better to give than to receive, regardless of what time or season we are in.
Friends, this year I would like to invite you to extend your holiday donation to our four-legged friends. For many of us, our pets are more than just animals, they are family members. Sadly our homeless four-legged friends are often forgotten during our charitable holiday donations. If possible, please donate a bag of pet food or cash to your local SPCA, The Stanislaus Wildlife Care Center or simply donate an extra dollar or two at your local pet store before completing your purchase.
If donating money or a bag of pet food isn’t affordable, another idea is to volunteer at a pet shelter. Please be kind to animals and to each other; our happiness and well-being as a society will shine even that much more during this holiday season and throughout the year.
