Efren Martinez: Pope’s visit great; don’t forget to pray for others

On Sept. 24 the continued suffering of the innocent in Syria took a backseat in the news, I’m guessing it’s because of Pope Francis’ awesome and historic visit to the U.S. I’m Catholic and appreciate his visit, but make no mistake, he is not loved anymore by God than you or I. Do not forget that you, too, can have the same loving relationship with God if you surrender yourself wholeheartedly to our Lord. Please join me in continuing to pray for those who are suffering all over the world – the sick, the poor and those who are on the run from religious persecution. Please love and respect all that lives and breaths, including our planet.

Efren Martinez, Modesto
