Joy Mastache: Hospice provided compassionate care for loved one
I recently had the bittersweet opportunity to share end-of-life care for my mother with Stanislaus County’s Community Hospice. The caring, knowledgeable folks at Community Hospice made it possible for me to bring my mother home from the hospital to spend her final weeks with her family. My mother’s experienced team included a registered nurse, a dedicated aide and a social worker. This team ensured that mom was comfortable and had everything she needed to transition peacefully. They made sure I knew what to expect, how to handle difficult situations and had access to available support systems. Community Hospice’s 24 hour call-center provided a trained team member to answer questions, offer solutions and advise me through crises.
Many heartfelt thanks to Martha, Angelica, Aimee and the whole Community Hospice team. I cannot speak highly enough about the organization and the value it brings to our community. Without their support, many wouldn’t have the opportunity to spend precious time with loved ones.
Community Hospice has been providing compassionate and quality care, education and support to terminally ill patients and their families, regardless of ability to pay, for over 30 years. Consider offering this amazing organization your support. Visit www.hospiceheart.org.
