William Dyer: OID isn’t broken, thanks to the incumbents
Come Nov. 3, voters in the Oakdale Irrigation District will be asked to select three board members. Three of the candidates are incumbents, Frank Clark, Al Barios and Gary Osmundson. If the voters have been keeping track of OID, they know the district has never been in better shape. Gotten through the worst drought in California’s history in good shape, $43 million dollars in the bank and annexed almost 11,000 acres of new land into the district. These annexations means the water stays local and our economy grows. The three individuals who want to unseat the incumbents, take a good look at them. Ask the question, what is their experience, motivation, qualifications. We are talking about running two very large companies – OID and the Tri-Dam Project, both valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars. There is an old saying, if it ain’t broke, don’t try and fix it. Vote for incumbents.
