Gary McKinsey: Gray did right thing in standing against SB 350

Re “Our View: Resisting the strong gravitational pull of SB 350” (Online, Sept. 9): I’m pleased to see that Senate Bill 350 was amended, thanks in part to Assemblyman Adam Gray. With the Paris Climate Change conference approaching, it seemed that California’s legislative leaders wanted to bring something big to the table, no matter how rushed or bad the policy was. Assemblyman Gray understood this and the negative impacts this bill would have on his constituents. His responsibility to his district outweighed the glamor this bill’s passing would bring to California, and I commend him for standing his ground and putting the residents of his district first.
