Andrew Wigglesworth: Turlock Chamber backs Brem, incumbents
Turlock is growing jobs and emerging as one of the best places to live and work in the Central Valley. After interviewing all the candidates, the Turlock Chamber of Commerce strongly endorses the election of Mike Brem as mayor and the re-election of council members Bill DeHart Jr. and Forrest White.
For mayor, we have two very capable candidates. However, we believe Mike Brem has far more experience and capacity to lead than his opponent. We are troubled by candidate Gary Soiseth’s constantly changing opposition to Measure B to help fix Turlock roads. In contrast, Brem has been clear in supporting Measure B. In short, Brem has the leadership style, ability and a keen understanding of our city’s key challenges and opportunities. Mike Brem is the best choice to lead our community forward and build on the legacy of retiring Mayor John Lazar.
For City Council, we were impressed with all the candidates, but based on their knowledge as well as positions on key city issues, Dehart and White clearly deserve re-election. They will provide continuity and experience on council. The leadership choices the voters make this November are very important to Turlock’s future. We urge you to vote!
