Mary Jackson: Soiseth takes a lot of developer money

I strongly support Mike Brem to be Turlock’s next Mayor. I urge fellow voters to compare Mike’s accomplishments with those of his opponent Gary Soiseth. It is one thing to talk about being a leader and another to actually lead.

In the Oct. 1 candidate debate, Soiseth admitted he has never voted in a Turlock election. Ironically, he feels he can lead our community.

Soiseth vowed not to take more than $1,500 from an individual or $3,000 from a business. Please review who has given Soiseth money, at http://www.turlock.ca.us/. It is interesting to me which donors have reappeared. For example, Mark Hall, the developer of Monte Vista Crossings (who doesn’t live in Turlock) gave Soiseth $4,500.

As a former council member, I tried my best not to waste taxpayer dollars. I believe Brem will do the same. He will fight off big developers, he will protect our farmland, and he has the integrity to do what’s right for all members of our community. I firmly believe the city of Turlock is economically on the right path, and Mike Brem will hit the ground running, fully understanding the issues. Please vote for Mike Brem on your November ballot.

Mary Jackson, Turlock
