Richard Weiglein: Council should quit hiring consultants
I can’t believe the city wants to hire another consultant. What is wrong with this city council?
It seems every time there is a decision to make, they need a consultant. Why do we need to pay the council if they can’t make any decision, except to hire another consultant. They just wasted $35,000 to find a city manager, then keep the guy who was already doing the job. If they were satisfied with his work, why not just ask him if he wants the job instead of wasting hard-earned taxpayer money? Now they want another consultant to review a long-term plan; another waste of good money that could be going to our fire and police forces. They just wasted $1.7 million-plus, ruining Briggsmore Avenue; it has never been so rough and full of lines. Drivers are having a hard time trying to figure out which way to turn.
Come next year’s election, lets get rid of the whole bunch and hire a consulting firm to answer to the city manager. That is what they are doing anyway.
