Bob McManus: Love Modesto, just not its golf courses?
Re “Love Modesto to benefit from golf tournament” (Page 4A, Aug. 27): I’m very confused with the Love Modesto Golf Tournament. If you love Modesto, then why would you take your fund-raising event to the Patterson area? Wouldn’t Modesto benefit more if you had your golf tournament in Modesto, on one of our three courses? We know we need the business on our courses, and local restaurants would have benefited from the gathering. Maybe next year it will be Love Patterson. Just a thought.
