Lisa Kasbarian: A surgeon who still makes house calls
There are great doctors in Modesto who still make house calls. On June 18, my mother was taken to the emergency room because she fell and broke her knee. I called Dr. Leslie Konkin’s office and spoke to his nurse as they were admitting my mother to the hospital. Dr. Konkin decided knee surgery was needed and performed it on my mother, putting her in a cast after the surgery. After the knee was healed, and it was time for the cast to be removed, we were told by Dr. Konkin that he and his staff would come to the house to remove it. House calls by a doctor are almost unheard of in this day and age, but this great orthopedic doctor came to our house without hesitation.
Dr. Konkin is an exemplary doctor and orthopedic surgeon and I cannot thank him enough for taking such great care of my mother.
